At the Army Training Center in Požarevac, individual specialist training is underway for soldiers performing voluntary military service who have been recruited for duties within the infantry and artillery branches.
These are soldiers who started their military service in March this year and who, after completing basic individual training, were assigned to this Training Command center to train in accordance with their military occupational specialties.
In this phase, which lasts for six weeks, the soldiers are trained at the training grounds in the General Pavle Jurišić Šturm Barracks and in the vicinity of Požarevac, as well as in specialized study rooms, in using infantry weapons in combat, mortar support assets and artillery systems, practicing defensive and offensive tactical actions and procedures.
Their specialist training ends in late May, with a test of their ability to perform individual tasks, followed by collective training and active involvement in the life and work of the Serbian Armed Forces’ units until the end of their military service.
The Army Training Center delivers individual specialist training of soldiers on voluntary military service, cadets and reserve force who did not perform military service with weapons, as well as training of all categories of permanent and reserve personnel for 53 specialties of infantry, artillery, armored units and engineering, being an important link in the training system in the Serbian Armed Forces.
