Thursday, 12.2.2026 | Training
This week, members of the tank and mechanized battalions of the 3rd Army Brigade conducted field training at the Orešac training area near Vršac.
As part of the training, conducted to maintain and further enhance the proficiency of professional personnel, crews of M-84 tanks and M-80 AB1/B2 infantry fighting vehicles rehearsed combat action, firing from branch-specific weapons systems.
The units engaged targets at various distances, and the results they achieved confirmed the unit members’ high level of gunnery proficiency. An important component of the training was additional instruction for young professional soldiers who successfully completed the selection process for admission to tank and mechanized battalions.
Members of the armoured units will now proceed to tactical exercises and live-fire drills to further enhance their proficiency in the combat use of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, fully utilizing the capabilities of these combat systems.
Continuous training in the tank and mechanized battalions ensures that all crews meet the established training standards, thereby maintaining a high level of combat readiness within these units. Thanks to their great mobility, firepower, and armoured protection, armoured units represent the Army’s primary manoeuvring force in operations.
