Participants of the Basic NCO Course, who undertook this training in early May, completed successfully stationary camping at Training Ground “Peskovi” near Požarevac.

This form of field training, following the end of the first module of the course, provides participants with the opportunity to check and put into practice the acquired military knowledge of commanding a squad in the conditions resembling a real combat situation.

During their stay at the training ground, which took several days, future NCOs of the Serbian Armed Forces executed live firing with infantry weapons and, in the role of squad commanders, carried out various tactical and fire missions on combat operations. Excellent live firing results and successful solving of various scenarios indicate that training so far has been of high quality and goal of the first training module fully met.

After completing the first module, they are expected to undergo branch/service-specific specialist training for 12 weeks, and then the final training part - a three-week internship in SAF units.

The Basic NCO Course lasts for six months; it is attended by selected soldiers who have previously completed the Leadership Course earning the opportunity to become SAF NCOs through their work and results achieved while performing military duties in their units. Upon completion of this training, they will be promoted to the rank of sergeant and appointed to appropriate NCO positions in the Serbian Armed Forces.
