Fire-fighting Exercise at Propellant Depot

Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, and his associates observed a mock fire-fighting exercise which was carried out today in one of the Central Logistics Base depots.

The goal of the successfully conducted exercise was to check the training and proficiency of the Central Logistics Base fire-fighting and depot units and their cooperation with other SAF units and the Ministry of the Interior fire-fighting and rescue units in extinguishing initial fires involving dangerous materials at a depot.

The exercise included the actions and procedures for extinguishing a fire that breaks out during the loading of propellants into the tank cars and trucks, from sounding the fire alert when the fire breaks out, to the action of the Central Logistics Base fire-fighting units and providing first aid to persons injured during the fire-fighting, to joint action with the territorially competent fire-fighting/rescue unit.

Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović commended the participants in the exercise and expressed satisfaction with the professional attitude and training of the Serbian Armed Forces fire-fighting units and their cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior fire brigade.

– I feel encouraged by the presented level of training and procedural knowledge, the capabilities of our fire-fighting systems, but also by the excellent cooperation of the Serbian Armed Forces units with the Emergency Situations Sector fire-fighting and rescue unit, which is crucial in such tasks – General Mojsilović said, assessing the exercise as excellent.
