Joint tactical training of artillery units of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan in using self-propelled gun-howitzers 155 mm B-52 M-15 “Nora” in combat was carried out on military training grounds in our country.
The two-week training was carried out on the basis of the two countries’ Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan — in the peacetime location of the Mixed Artillery Brigade in Niš and, subsequently, at the “Pasuljanske Livade” Training Ground, where live firing took place.
The artillerymen of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, who have Serbian self-propelled gun-howitzers in their arsenal, were taught the tactics of using this modern and powerful weapon and engaging targets in accordance with the set standards and norms for effective action by instructors from the Mixed Artillery Brigade.
The leader of the training, commander of the B-52 “Nora” self-propelled gun- howitzer artillery battalion from the largest artillery unit of the Serbian Armed Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Aleksandar Cvetković, says that the training was conducted in two phases, the first one happening at the “Mija Stanimirović” Barracks and “Rujnik” training ground in Niš.
— In the second phase, at the “Pasuljanske Livade” training ground, we carried out day and night firing with 155 mm self-propelled gun-howitzers. The general impression of members of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces about the training is excellent. They are especially satisfied with our weapons, where I particularly single out the 155 mm B-52 “Nora” self-propelled gun howitzer and fire control system, which showed excellent accuracy and speed of operation — said Lt. Col. Cvetković.
During the training, Army Commander, Major General Zoran Nasković visited the artillerymen, witnessing their exceptional skill. He stated that the joint training was an important activity of military cooperation between Serbia and Azerbaijan with concrete and visible results and contribution to improving the capabilities of the armed forces and strengthening the overall bilateral relations.
