Meeting with KFOR Commander
Friday, 8.5.2026 | International Co-operation
The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, met today in Belgrade with the KFOR Commander, Major General Özkan Ulutaş.
At the regular high-level meeting, which forms part of broader activities aimed at preserving security in Kosovo and Metohija and stability in the region, the security situation on the ground and the activities undertaken by the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR were discussed.
Noting that the situation in the Province is sensitive and fragile, it was emphasized that the international security forces must maintain vigilance and readiness for rapid response, and that continued regular and open communication at all levels is of utmost importance for monitoring the situation on the ground and preventing the emergence and escalation of a crisis.
General Mojsilović pointed out that unilateral moves by the provisional institutions in Priština — including efforts to join military alliances and to transform the so-called Kosovo Security Forces into a military — have a negative impact on security in the region. He emphasized that the Republic of Serbia recognizes KFOR as the only legitimate armed formation in Kosovo and Metohija, responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for all in the Province and for protecting the Serbian population as the most vulnerable segment of the population.
