Continued
discussion is planned for September when the general Ashenhurst will
visit Serbia again, and, among other things, will attend the promotion
of cadets of the military academy in the first officer's rank.
General
Ashenurst assumed duties as the commander of the Ohio National Guard
(Adjutant General Joint Force Headquarters – Ohio) on 10 January 2011.
This is the first woman in history to command the Ohio National Guard.
Intensive
cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ohio National
Guard began in 2006 and is done within the State Partnership Program,
which in addition to military cooperation was signed in order to
establish economic, cultural, trade and other ties between the two
countries.
