Members of the Italian Armed Forces have undergone specialist live agent training at the Serbian Armed Forces’ CBRN Training Centre in Kruševac.

This is the first training of this kind for the specialists from the Italian CBRN units. The training was carried out under the expert supervision of the Serbian Armed Forces’ certified instructors, with the aim of improving knowledge about live agents and protection measures, as well as practical training of participants for working in a contaminated environment.

The five-day training program included theoretical and practical lessons at the “Ravnjak” Training Ground and in specialized laboratories at the “Car Lazar” Barracks. The focus was on practicing actions and procedures during reconnaissance of the contaminated area, chemical detection, decontamination of soil and facilities, sampling of live agents and providing medical assistance in case of poisoning by highly toxic substances.

The training of the Italian Armed Forces’ members at the CBRN Training Centre is another confirmation of the expertise of the instructor staff and the quality of CBRN training in the Serbian Armed Forces, providing an impetus for further improvement of bilateral military cooperation between the two countries.
