Monday, 1.4.2024 | Multinational Operations
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces MP Department, who had been engaged in the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) for the last six months, returned to the Republic of Serbia after handing over their duties to a new contingent.

During their engagement, they performed all assigned tasks responsibly and professionally so they received the highest marks and praise from the command of international forces in this mission.

The Serbian Armed Forces MP Department engaged in UNFICYP is part of the British contingent and it performs a wide range of tasks, such as undertaking measures to protect engaged forces, investigation and escort of important persons. While fulfilling its duties, our unit also works closely with local police forces.

Currently, in addition to an MP department, the Serbian Armed Forces deploy staff officers in the UNFICYP, in the mission HQ in Nicosia, while, previously, until 2018, it deployed an infantry platoon-level unit.
