Soldiers on voluntary military service who have been recruited for military occupational specialties of logistics services are currently undergoing specialist training at the Logistics Training Center.
In this unit of the Training Command, which is located in the garrisons of Kraljevo, Kruševac and Niš, soldiers are trained for more than 20 duties - for paramedics, firefighters, drivers, electro-mechanics for wheeled and tracked vehicles, mechanics for weapons, ammunition and mines and explosives, as well as for the duties of hydraulic technicians, cooks and bakers.
At the “Car Lazar” barracks in Kruševac, in this class, the soldiers of the technical and quartermaster services are being trained for the duties of mechanics for optical and aiming devices, firefighters and cooks.
Second Lieutenant Dina Stojanović, commander of the cook training platoon in the quartermaster service training company, points out that in this unit the soldiers have all the conditions for specialist training, both for the duties of cooks, as well as for the duties of hydraulic technicians and bakers.
— Soldier chefs acquire theoretical knowledge first, and then apply it practically in the cooking workshop. They are trained to work in military restaurants and for wartime cooking, while hydraulic technicians are trained to provide water supply - says 2nd Lt Stojanović, adding that after completing this training phase, the soldiers would be evaluated and then transferred to units of the Serbian Armed Forces for the second training period.
A soldier performing military service Stefan Bogićević, currently undergoing training as a mechanic for optical instruments and aiming devices, says that after completing successfully the Technical High School in Niš, he signed up for military service in order to learn how to operate specific equipment of the Serbian Armed Forces.
— The training is dynamic, challenging and provides knowledge and discipline that cannot be acquired anywhere else — said soldier Bogićević, noting that, after completing his military service, he planned to sign a working contract with the Serbian Armed Forces.
This possibility is open to all soldiers on military service. They can apply for admission to professional military service right now, so that they could join the ranks of professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces immediately after completing their military service.
