98th Air Force Brigade’s Helicopter Pilots Undergo Training

Members of the 98th Air Force Brigade are undergoing a regular training for flying in winter conditions on "Mi-35" and "Gamma" aircraft at the "Morava" airport and in the wider region of Kraljevo.

Both pilots and technical staff of this Air Force and Air Defence unit are being trained for maintaining and improving skills necessary for conducting tasks in winter conditions. This is a regular pilot and technical staff training for conducting tasks when fog, reduced visibility, uniformity of terrain and snow blowing during landing make it difficult to fly and carry out tasks.

Helicopter group leaders and escort helicopter pilots practice tactics, techniques and procedures for the preparation and performing a group flight, as well as elements of combat and acrobatic training, in conditions when reduced visibility, uniformity of terrain, fog and snow blowing during landing make it difficult to fly and carry out tasks.

Simultaneously with the pilot training, the squadron’s technical staff of all specialties is undergoing training. The technical staff practices already established procedures in cases of low temperatures and adverse weather conditions in specially designated areas in front of hangars.

The "Mi-35" and "Gamma" combat helicopters are used in their basic purpose to engage ground targets as close air support to the Army forces. They are in the arsenal of the 714th Anti Armor Helicopter Squadron.
