International Course for UN Military Observers

International course for United Nations Military Observers, organized by the Peacekeeping Operations Centre, started today at the "South" base near Bujanovac.

The goal of the three-week course is to train participants to work as military observers in peacekeeping operations in accordance with United Nations procedures and standards. The participants are officers of the Serbian Armed Forces and members of the armed forces of Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Germany, Pakistan, Peru, Slovenia and the Czech Republic.

Lectures are given by the team of instructors from the Peacekeeping Operations Centre with the support of the commands of the Serbian Armed Forces operational units and the engagement of guest lecturers from the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff and instructors from partner training centers from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece and Hungary.

This is the seventh time that the United Nations Military Observer Course is being conducted in the Republic of Serbia. The long-term successful implementation of the course, for which the Peacekeeping Operations Centre is certified by the United Nations Integrated Training Service, is a confirmation of the quality of training in the Serbian Armed Forces for deployment in multinational operations.
