Friday, 9.5.2025 | Training
Intensive training of professional personnel in using self-propelled gun-howitzers 155 mm B-52 M-15 “Nora” and self-propelled four-barrel rocket launchers 262 mm M-87 “Orkan” in combat is underway at the locations where the Mixed Artillery Brigade is deployed and military training grounds in the vicinity of Niš.
This is regular training intended to maintain a high level of skills in providing fire support to Army units and to train professional soldiers for additional duties as crews of these combat systems of great firepower.
In this phase, the focus is on tactical drills of artillery and missile batteries for preparing and delivering indirect fire. They are practicing actions and procedures during reconnaissance, taking up the firing position and observation post and detecting the target, as well as fulfilling the firing order; collective training leads to maximum coordination of work of all crews, achieving the set standards in the process from spotting the target to opening fire.
Afterwards, the combat crews are supposed to have more complex field training contents and scheduled firing, with the opportunity to demonstrate their tactical and firearms skills in performing specific tasks on combat operations.
Persistent training and tactical drills are instrumental in maintaining high proficiency of crews of artillery and missile systems, thus improving the overall abilities of the Mixed Artillery Brigade to provide reliable, precise and powerful fire support to Serbian Armed Forces’ units while conducting operations.
