Military ceremonies were held in the Serbian Armed Forces today to mark the Day of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, the Day of Military Paratroopers and the Day of the 2nd Training Centre.

The Day of the 63rd Parachute Brigade and the Day of Military Paratroopers were marked at the military airport "Sergeant Pilot Mihajlo Petrović" in Niš, in memory of October 14, 1944, when the 1st Parachute Battalion of the People's Liberation Army of Yugoslavia was formed at the military base near Bari in Italy.

On the occasion of the holiday, in front of the ceremonial formation of the members of the brigade, the results of the work in the previous period were summarized and outstanding individuals were presented with awards.

In reviewing the achieved results, the outstanding training, professionalism and dedication of the members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade in the implementation of all assigned tasks were highlighted, thus making a full contribution to the construction of the operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces and confirming that they rightfully belong to this elite unit of our army.

The members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade also celebrated the Patron Saint Day — the Veil of the Blessed Mother of God, which has been celebrated in this unit since 2002.

In the "Vojvoda Živojin Mišić" barracks in Valjevo, a military ceremony was held on the occasion of the Day of the 2nd Training Centre, which is commemorated on October 15, 1918, when the Serbian military liberated Valjevo.

At the ceremony, awards were presented to the outstanding individuals, wreaths were laid on the memorial in the barracks and the results of the unit's work were summarized, with a reminder that the Centre successfully implemented all tasks in accordance with the purpose of the unit in the past year.
