New Automation System for Efficient Sky Control and Protection
Thursday, 30.1.2025 | Training
The training of members of the 126th ASEWG Brigade engaged with permanently deployed forces for control and protection of the airspace of the Republic of Serbia is underway at the ASEWG Centre.
The training is conducted with the new system for processing and displaying the aerial situation and automatic control — SOVA 24 — a domestic product and state-of-the-art technological achievement incorporated into the armament of the Serbian Armed Forces in December last year.
Identification and tracking operators and computer technicians, employed at ASEWG centres, are being trained to operate the system. The operators are going through the procedures for performing the tasks such as collecting, processing and distributing radar observation data, while computer technicians are taking practical actions while handling the system and doing basic maintenance.
The aim of this training is for combat shifts to upgrade the acquired knowledge and skills in working with the new automation system, that is, in performing the tasks of control and protection of the airspace of the Republic of Serbia in interoperability with other permanently deployed forces.
Incorporation of the SOVA 24 system into the armament of the Serbian Armed Forces marked the fulfillment of the highest standards for controlling the airspace, guiding combat aviation for fighting purposes, directing AD missile units and providing navigational assistance to aircraft in an emergency. The system has turned out to be extremely efficient in the work so far and able to make possible for the automated work in the Brigade’s ASEWG Centre.
