Routine Training of Serbian Armed Forces Infantry Units
Monday, 20.7.2026 | Training
The Serbian Armed Forces infantry units—trained to conduct combat operations in all conditions—are being equipped and trained intensively to execute tasks on the modern battlefield using new weaponry and military equipment.
Training takes place in areas surrounding peacetime bases and at a combined-arms training ground, where the tactical and firearms proficiency of professional personnel is evaluated.
A major step forward regarding combat capabilities of infantry units has been achieved through the introduction of modern multi-role combat vehicles, as well as new small arms, optoelectronic systems and ballistic protection equipment.
The 40mm/6 M-11 PD-51 revolver-type grenade launcher is one of the pieces of equipment recently provided to these units—a product of the domestic defense industry—designed to destroy and neutralize exposed and partially covered personnel, as well as to disable weapons, artillery pieces, and unarmored motor vehicles.
The introduction of the revolver-type grenade launcher, combined with high-mobility vehicles and new support assets, has enhanced the capabilities of maneuver units for powerful, rapid, and surprise action.
Infantry units face more complex forms of training ahead—including tactical exercises and live firing—where they are supposed to demonstrate their proficiency in executing tactical and fire missions during the Serbian Armed Forces’ offensive and defensive operations.
