International Course at CBRN Training Center

The international course “Detection, Dosimetry and Protection against Ionizing Radiation” was held at the CBRN Training Centre of the Serbian Armed Forces in Kruševac, and was attended by members of the armed forces from nine countries.

During the five-day training, CBRN service specialists from the armed forces of Azerbaijan, Egypt, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Slovenia and Spain were trained to work in the conditions of exposure to ionizing radiation.

They practiced using the equipment for detection and dosimetry, measurement techniques and identification of sources of ionizing radiation, assessment of the effects of radiation on biological systems and undertaking basic protection measures, in specialized study rooms and during practical exercises.

The training course was carried out by certified instructors from the CBRN Training Center, as well as visiting lecturers from the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences and Serbian Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate.

The successful implementation of this training and wide international interest in participating in the training at the CBRN Training Center represents another confirmation of the expertise of the instructor staff and quality of training in the Serbian Armed Forces in the CBRN field, and is a motivation for further improvement of military cooperation with partner states.
