A military ceremony has been held at the “Banjica” Barracks in Belgrade today on the occasion of the Day of the Air Defense Artillery Missile Units, which is marked on September 30, 1915, when Private Radoje Raka Ljutovac shot down an enemy plane with a modified field cannon.

On the occasion of the holiday, a ceremonial parade of the 250th Air Defense Missile Brigade units and a display of weapons and military equipment were held, wreaths laid at the memorial in the barracks and awards and recognitions presented to the most successful individuals.

While referring to the achieved results and more than a century-long history of air defense in the Serbian army, the expertise, dedication and professionalism of members of the air defense artillery-missile units, as well as the enormous progress in equipping them with modern combat systems, were highlighted, which the citizens of Serbia could also see at the recently held Power of Unity Military Parade.

Today’s ceremony was attended by Air Force and Air Defense Commander, Major General Brane Krnjajić, former commanders of the 250th Missile Brigade, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces and other guests.
