On the basis of the Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan with the Republic of Cyprus, in our country, for three consecutive years, training of members of the National Guard of that country in using the Self-Propelled Gun-Howitzers 155 mm B-52 M-15 “Nora” in combat has been successfully implemented.

During the two-week activities at the Serbian Armed Forces’ training grounds, Cypriot soldiers, under the supervision of instructors from the Mixed Artillery Brigade, acquired the necessary knowledge on how to use this weapon.

The final activities were carried out at the Training Ground “Pasuljanske Livade”, where a joint battery was formed for training purposes, made up of Serbian and Cypriot platoons. The battery practiced taking up a firing position, reconnaissance, detecting targets and acquisition of firing elements, with the execution of preparatory and combat firing in accordance with set norms and standards.

The training at “Pasuljanski Livade” was also attended by the final year Military Academy cadets who are training to become artillery officers.

The achieved results, primarily with regard to the hits scored at the firing, confirmed that it was a high-quality training that reached fully the training goal.

Training of members of the National Guard of Cyprus, whose armament includes the self-propelled howitzers “Nora” produced in our country, is one of the numerous activities of bilateral military cooperation between Serbia and Cyprus aimed at strengthening mutual trust and building the capabilities of the armed forces.
