Training of dog handlers and training and re-training of Military Working Dogs of various purposes that will be serving in the Serbian Armed Forces units is ongoing at the Dog Training Center in Niš.
Training includes basic and specialist training and preparation of handlers and dogs for performing their tasks, in accordance with the affinities and abilities of the dogs. Currently, the Center is conducting the training for engaging in the protection and securing the facilities and mobile assets of the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as re-training for searching the terrain and discovering mines and explosive ordnance.
They are practicing the attack, defense, overcoming natural and artificial obstacles, carrying out counter-sabotage inspections, breaking into facilities and motor vehicles and neutralizing opponents, for which MWDs, thanks to their extremely developed senses and speed of reaction, are irreplaceable companions of the Serbian Armed Forces members.
The Dog Training Center is a Training Command unit intended for training, health care, breeding and reproduction of MWDs, as well as for training and professional development of the veterinary service personnel. The quality of training and high genetic potential of the dogs that are bred and trained in this Center are confirmed by numerous recognitions and exceptional results at international and domestic dog shows.
