A military ceremony on the occasion of the Day of the 2nd Army Brigade—marked on July 12 to commemorate the day in 1805 when Serbian revolutionaries liberated Karanovac (present-day Kraljevo) from Turkish rule—has been held today at the “Ribnica” Barracks in Kraljevo.
The ceremony was an opportunity to sum up the results achieved over the past year, with an assessment that the Brigade had successfully carried out all assigned tasks; awards and commendations were also presented to unit members on the occasion of the holiday.
The ceremony was attended by Army Commander, Major General Zoran Nasković, commanders of Serbian Armed Forces units, former commanders of the 2nd Brigade, representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, local government bodies, religious communities, veterans’ associations and organizations, as well as institutions and enterprises from Kraljevo.
In addition to the Day of the Unit, the Brigade will also mark its patron saint’s day—the Feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul—on July 12th with the Holy Liturgy and cutting of the ritual bread.
