Training with Missile Artillery Systems of Great Destructive Power

On the training grounds in the vicinity of Sremska Mitrovica, the execution of the winter training cycle of the 1st Army Brigade battalion armed with digitized self-propelled MLRS 128 mm M-17 Oganj is in progress.
The aim of the training is to improve further the skills of the crews in using this modern artillery asset in combat, the introduction of which into the arsenal significantly improved the unit’s ability to provide fire support in the operations of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The focus is on tactical drills in conditions that simulate a real combat situation. The work of the artillery battery is practiced on the move and during gun emplacement and taking up the observation post, with the application of measures of camouflage and protection from air reconnaissance, then the organization of the immediate security of the deployment area, procedures while preparing and delivering artillery fire and leaving the position rapidly after the effect.
In the next phase, which is actually the most complex segment in this training cycle, unit members are supposed to conduct live-fire tactical exercises, when their competence, technical knowledge, precision and speed of work will be put into action.
The digitized self-propelled MLRS 128 mm M-17 Oganj is a modern artillery system intended for delivering sudden and concentrated artillery fire on large-scale targets. It is characterized by mobility, precision and an integrated fire control system, which enables its effective use in modern combat conditions.
