Peacekeeping Force Protection Unit Undergoes Skills Assessment

At the “Borovac” Training Ground and “South” Base, a force protection platoon conducted a tactical exercise, checking the unit’s readiness for the upcoming engagement in the UN peacekeeping operation in Lebanon.

During multi-day activities, members of this Training Command unit performed tactical tasks awaiting them potentially during their engagement in a peacekeeping operation, where they will be in charge of securing one of the bases of the UN peacekeeping forces.

The skills, discipline and interoperability of the unit were assessed by a team from the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, the achieved results showing that the platoon reached the prescribed standards and was fully trained, equipped and ready to perform tasks in an international environment.

The Serbian Armed Forces have been deploying a force protection platoon in Lebanon since 2014, and in this United Nations peacekeeping operation, the Serbian Armed Forces’ infantry company, staff officers and a group of specialists in charge of supporting our contingent are currently on a peacekeeping mission.
