Replacement of Serbian Armed Forces Team in EUTM Somalia

In the European Union Training Mission in Somalia, the replacement of the Serbian Armed Forces contingent engaged in this peacekeeping operation has been conducted in the past few days.
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces - a staff officer appointed as chief adviser to the mission commander on all medical issues and five-member medical team had successfully performed all assigned tasks since arriving in the AO in February this year and justified the reputation of the medical service of the Serbian Armed Forces in an international environment with their professionalism and expertise.
In accordance with the mission’s mandate, in the next six months, the new team of the Serbian Armed Forces will continue to perform the tasks in the field of medical support of training and preventive health care and treatment of members of international forces engaged in this mission.
The Serbian Armed Forces began participating in the EUTM Somalia in 2012, and so far more than 130 doctors and medical technicians have been engaged in this mission, as part of the mission HQ and within the medical team. By engaging in both UN and EU peacekeeping operations, apart from building and preserving peace in the world, the Serbian Armed Forces contribute actively to strengthening the position of our country in terms of its foreign policy.
