— The Serbian Armed Forces are strong, ready, equipped and always capable of preserving our country and preserving our way of life — said Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin who, accompanied by Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Major General Petar Cvetković, and Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense, Major General Duško Žarković, visited the permanently positioned forces of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade, tasked with controlling and protecting the sovereignty of the airspace of the Republic of Serbia, and spent part of the New Year’s Eve at the Pančevo garrison with them.

Minister Vulin wished for 2020 to be a year of peace and freedom for all the members of the Serbian Armed Forces, but also the year of further development and strengthening of the Serbian Armed Forces.

— There are no holidays for the Serbian Armed Forces, and no days off. There are no days in any year in which the Serbian Armed Forces are not fully prepared, in which they are incapable of preserving our sovereignty, our integrity and our way of life — said the Minister of Defence.
The Serbian Armed Forces are preparing, training and taking care every day that our skies are not threatened, that our country is not endangered, said Minister Vulin.

— All members of the Serbian Armed Forces will do their best during these holidays to allow all of us to rest, to be able to be with our families and to be calm, safe and peaceful, because the Serbian Armed Forces are here to protect us — emphasized Minister Vulin.

During his visit, Commander of the 250th Air Defence Missile Briagde, Brigadier General Tiosav Janković briefed the Minister of Defence on the basic tasks within the Air Defense System for the Brigade and the missile battery on duty.

— The units of the 250th Air Defence Missile Briagde by their participation in the control and protection of the sovereignty of the airspace of the Republic of Serbia contribute to the safety and security of our skies 365 days a year. Every day our assets are operational, our combat crews are trained, and the units are ready to carry out their most significant and crucial task in peace-time — control of the protection of sovereignty of the airspace of the Republic of Serbia — said General Janković.

Following the tour, the visit continued through talks and socializing with the members of the missile battery on duty.
