The first group of professional soldiers, in fact, over a thousand of them, who have been employed in the Serbian Armed Forces with a fixed-term contract, got their permanent employment. Thus, an important step forward was made in improving the status of the armed forces members.
This step was made possible by amendments to the Law on the Serbian Armed Forces, adopted in December last year, which provide that professional soldiers, after at least three years of continuous service, can get permanent employment, in accordance with the needs of the service.
On this occasion, ceremonies were held in the Serbian Armed Forces units, where soldiers were handed permanent contracts, earned through conscientious and professional performance of tasks, dedication to the profession and loyalty to the motherland.
The permanent resolution of the labor-legal status of professional soldiers is the result of the efforts of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff to improve the status and standard of soldiers, to provide them with greater stability and an additional incentive for further professional development and performance of all tasks in the service of the country’s defense.
Accordingly, other soldiers who meet the prescribed requirements can expect that they will receive permanent employment contracts in the forthcoming period.
