TO THE MEMBERS OF THE GUARD,
ON THE OCCASION OF MAY 6 — UNIT DAY
On behalf of the members of the Serbian Army and myself, I congratulate the members of the Guard on May 6 — Unit Day.
On this day, on St. George's Day, back in 1830, by the order of Prince Miloš Obrenović, the former unit "Gvardija" was formed — the first guard unit in Serbia.
With numerous protocol state activities, military honors and securing vital facilities of the defence system, you present both the Serbian Army and the Republic of Serbia in a representative way.
Members of the Guard have always been carefully selected. Expertise in work and a high level of motivation for the work you do are the best example of how to preserve the reputation of the Serbian Army.
Convinced that in the next period you will successfully realize the set tasks and strengthen the operational capabilities and morale of the Serbian Army, I congratulate you on the holiday.
