The traditional New Year’s humanitarian campaign ‘Landing of Santa Claus and the Good Fairy’ for toddlers from schools for children with disabilities was held today at the Colonel-pilot Milenko Pavlović Air Base in Batajnica.

Santa Claus and the Good Fairy came to 38 little ones on an AN-26 aircraft from the composition of 138th Transport Aviation Squadron.

Students of the ‘Anton Skala’ School for Elementary and Secondary Education in Stara Pazova, children from the Humanitarian Foundation SOS Children’s Villages Serbia from Obrenovac and Zemun, as well as children from multi-member families, welcomed Santa Claus and the Good Fairy with smiles on their faces, and then they had opportunity to enter the plane and socialise with the air crew.

For the eighth consecutive year, the humanitarian campaign has been organised by members of the 204th Aviation Brigade of AF&AD, employees of the Military Medical Academy and members of the  ‘Gift a Smile’ Student Charity Foundation of the Faculty of Law, Belgrade.

As Anđela Jović from ‘Gift a Smile’ organisation pointed out, it is a very “nice and specific campaign”.

— What we see when we carry out the campaign are the children's smiles, the warm embrace and their selflessness they give us. This is really a specific campaign and we strive to involve as many children as possible each year, the representative of the ‘Gift a Smile’ organisation said.

The socialising with Santa Claus, the Good Fairy and the organisers continued at the soldier’s restaurant of the 204th Aviation Brigade, where New Year holiday packages were distributed to the delight of all the little ones.
