In order to alleviate the consequences of the long-lasting drought that caused water shortages, members of the Serbian Armed Forces are tasked with providing help in supplying water to households in several villages in the territory of Bujanovac, Kruševac and Sjenica.
According to the requests of the local government bodies, seven water tankers are currently being used in these places, where they will remain until the stabilization of hydrological conditions and water supply.
Wells, water tankers and reservoirs for water used in households and for livestock are primarily being refilled in the villages of Jablanica, Donje Novo Selo and Pretina near Bujanovac and in Veliki Šiljegovac, Grevci, Ribari and Ribarska Banja near Kruševac.
Since last Thursday, members of the Serbian Armed Forces have been engaged in the same task in the villages on the Pešter Plateau in the municipality of Sjenica, where earlier this month, the Serbian Armed Forces’ engineers were working on digging new and arranging and cleaning existing livestock watering places.
In a situation where the inhabitants of many villages are facing a shortage of water, the Serbian Armed Forces remain ready to help their people and, at any moment and in accordance with the available capacities, will engage their forces and resources to provide assistance to vulnerable citizens of the Republic of Serbia.
