The Serbian Armed Forces continues to provide the necessary assistance in unblocking roads and evacuating the affected citizens.

Tow tank and necessary manpower from the composition of the First Army Brigade headed to a place where, on a local road M22 Backa Topola – Subotica, a tug overturned and made the block. Commander of the 17th mechanized battalion from Backa Topola Lieutenant Colonel Sladjan Arsenic also headed this way.

- The situation was particularly critical in Zobnatica, where high snowdrifts blocked the convoy of vehicles. We pulled out a tractor and four trucks, including fire vehicles. The tug, meanwhile, was pulled out, and we remain on alert for further engagement – Lieutenant Colonel Arsenic said.

Members of the Fifth Battalion of the Military Police were deployed during the night at six points along the Novi Sad – Subotica highway, to close the access roads.

Transport helicopters of the Serbian Armed Forces are at the state of readiness.
