Inspection of Permanently Engaged Forces and Rapid Response Forces completed

Inspection of capabilities of a part of permanently engaged forces and rapid reaction forces of the Serbian Armed Forces completed today with practice at Kovin Airport.

The inspection of forces for intervention towards endangered facilities from a part of units of the Training Command and practice at Kovin Airport today, concluded the three-day, extraordinary and unannounced inspection of capabilities of a part of permanently engaged forces and rapid reaction forces of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
Practicing activities were carried out at the Kovin Airport, which included blocking and destruction of a terrorist group and solving the hostage situation by engaging two counter-terrorist teams from the Special Brigade and the “Kobre” Military Police Special Battalion, a reconnaissance and raider team and unmanned aircraft squads. Air medical evacuation was also practiced.
 
The final exercise was attended by Chief of General Staff, General Ljubiša Diković, Army Commander, Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, Chief of the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Department, Brigadier General Ilija Todorov, Commander of the Special Brigade, Brigadier General Zoran Veličković and Chief of Private Office of the Chief of General Staff, Colonel Stevan Kotarlić.
 
Speaking to the participants of the exercise, the Chief of the General Staff pointed out that the essence of this inspection of capabilities was to inspect the rapid reaction forces that should solve the initial tasks and create conditions for us to have the initiative in certain actions and to adequately respond to any security risk.

-In today's conditions, the one who reacts faster and more skilfully, who applies the surprise, and prevents that surprise, comes in tactical advantage and wins. You are the forces that need to create the initial advantage, to protect the main forces that ultimately solve security problems - General Diković said, expressing the satisfaction that the exercise activities were carried out at a very good level and especially praising the engagement of the Special Brigade units which, at the moment of alarm, were at the training in summer conditions on Vlasina Lake.
 
The Chief of General Staff announced that such exercises will be carried out also in the forthcoming period in order to achieve the highest level of training of emergency response forces.
 
According to the Chief of the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Department of the General Staff, Brigadier General Ilija Todorov, who is at the same time chief of the control of the part of permanently engaged forces and rapid reaction forces, the engaged forces carried out all the tasks in accordance with orders of the control from the General Staff.
 
- The goal of the inspection has been fully achieved. We had opportunity to see first-hand that the elements intended for performance of tasks within the rapid reaction forces were prepared, that the personnel was trained, and that the commanding cadre was ready to perform tasks in accordance with the orders - General Todorov said.
