The annual competition of military police and reconnaissance units of the Serbian Armed Forces has been solemnly concluded today at the “Ribnica” barracks in Kraljevo with presenting cups and medals to the most successful teams and competitors.
In the competition of 14 teams from the Serbian Armed Forces and two from the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and Republika Srpska each, the best team was the one from the Special Purpose Military Police Detachment “Cobras”. Second place went to the team of the Special Operations Battalion “Falcons” from the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, while the third place went to the Gendarmerie team.
Carrying out complex and demanding mental and physical tasks, in addition to excellent coordination and team spirit of their teams, the competitors also showed extraordinary skills, firepower, tactical skills and abilities in the field, as well as psychophysical endurance. In the first two phases, they competed in carrying out firing tasks, individually and as part of a patrol on a specially arranged firing range. In the third stage, they proved their tactical abilities on the patrol track, and the sum of results from all the competition stages, after today’s fourth stage, decided the winning team.
The five-day competition was closed by Head of the Military Police Directorate, Major General Milan Lazić, who has pointed out that the contestants have showed all that is typical of people in military and police uniforms — unwavering strength, chivalrous spirit and sense of togetherness.
