Noblest deed awards presented

Gold medal for the collective achievement of the year, the very engagement in rehabilitation of the consequences of earthquakes that struck in the Kraljevo in early November were presented to military and police officers. On behalf of the second Brigade of the Army the award was received by Commander Brigadier General Dusan Stojanovic.

for "The Noblest Achievement" which awarded annually by the "Novosti"
daily were presented today at the City Hall to those most courageous in
2010 year.

On behalf of the second Brigade of the Army the award was received by Commander Brigadier General Dusan Stojanovic.
The event was attended by Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac, Interior Minister Ivica Dacic, Minister of Culture Nebojsa Bradic, Minister of Labour and Social Policy Rasim Ljajic, and Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas and many other guests.
I'm proud of the members of the 2nd Brigade who have generously and humanely, just after the earthquake, assisted the needy. We supplied the village with water, transported building materials and provided transport capacities. And today, we are there for the citizens of Kraljevo. We have to tear down those buildings which are non inhabitable. The recognition we have received is significant because we have thus fulfilled the third mission of the Army of Serbia. The citizens of Kraljevo are grateful- said general Stojanovic.
Gold medal for the individual achievement of the year was awarded to Milan Djordjevic from Kladovo, who rescued from the Danube two graduate students, with the help of police officers Milan Vukotic and Sladjana Savic, who also received special recognition.
Sisters Milena, Jelena and Milica Ristic, who are living with a sick father, are the bravest children in Serbia and won the gold plaque for children's achievement. They take care of their father, and of the household.
Dobrila Minic (80) from Krusevac, received recognition for the noblest deed as rescued a young man out of a burning car. Special plaques were given to Dr Slavica Cankovic for visiting the Serbian population in enclaves in Kosovo and Metohija, Verica Milosevic, the hotel maid in Banja Koviljaca who found 5000 EUR in a hotel room and returned them to the owner, followed by family Randjelovic from Nis who adopted a baby with the Down syndrome, and a tractor driver Ferenc Bancov, a bone marrow donor. For the nobility, the nuns Teodosija and Tekla from Budisavci monastery in Kosovo and Metohija, who guard this holy site.
Driver of the city bus Boris Djukanovic and passengers Anita Ljubinkovic received plaques because from a passenger who tried to kidnap a girl on 26 bus line
Cvece Miljkovic received recognition for his selfless assistance and volunteer work in Kraljevo after the earthquake, and Spiro Galjak from Zubin Potok, because he pulled a girl from a car that fell into the lake. Dragan Golubovic bus driver managed to contain the bus where the brakes failed and saved the lives of forty passengers.
A 14-year old Nenad Vesovic from Arilje found a wallet with seven hundred euros in it and returned it to the woman who collected money for school fees of children.
Students of elementary school "Mirijevo" gave the money intended excursion to their former teacher, Zoran Kostic, for the treatment of his grandson, who suffers from cerebral palsy.
Awards were also presented to Firefighters from Prnjavor who rescued fifteen people from floods.
The jury panel was made up of Matija Beckovic, president of the jury were the general manager and chief editor of the company "News" Vukotic Manojlo, Minister of Culture Nebojsa Bradic, the MMA chief Major General Miodrag Jeftic, director of the Comtrade Veselin Jevrosimovic, then director Sinisa Kovacevic, fashion designer Verica Rakocevic, Dean of the Theological Faculty, Professor Radovan Bigovic, former Supreme Court Judge Zoran Ivosevic, basketball player Dejan Bodiroga, Serbian Tennis Federation President Slobodan Zivojinovic and actress Tanja Boskovic
