In the "Car Lazar" Barracks and at the "Ravnjak" Military Complex in Kruševac, members of the 246th CBRN battalion are currently on their regular training, so as to perform the tasks of nuclear and chemical protection of the Serbian Armed Forces units.

It is a very important segment of professional members’ collective training aimed at reaching the highest level of competence for executing the tasks of CBRN decontamination of the ground, people, facilities, weapons and materiel.

In the process of training, the modern isolating protective equipment is being used as well as detection, dosimetry and decontamination means, the most important being the newly-introduced mobile decontamination platform MPD09, of domestic origin. Development of the observation post, data collection and analysis as well as decontamination in the event of nuclear or chemical attack, are the focal activities rehearsed by the unit at this training level.

Training of professional members, which takes place in the unit over the whole year, results not only in the 246th CBRN battalion high-level competence for accomplishing the tasks of CBRN protection within all three missions of the Serbian Armed Forces, but also in its readiness for rapid response as required.
