Centenary of Existence and Work of Technical Overhaul Institute Čačak

At the Cultural Center in Čačak, a ceremonial academy has been held this evening on the occasion of 100 years of existence and work of the Technical Overhaul Institute Čačak.
The solemn gathering was attended by Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić, members of the collegiums of the Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff, representatives of state administration and local government bodies, religious communities, domestic companies and businesses, and numerous guests.
Congratulating on the great jubilee, the Minister of Defense has pointed out that the Institute is an institution of exceptional importance for our defense system, “whose work has been intertwined with the history of this city and its rich military tradition”.
— Over the decades of its existence, the Technical Overhaul Institute Čačak has been changing its organizational status and capacities in accordance with the needs and requirements of the armed forces, but it never changed its basic activity - the highest-level maintenance of weapons and military equipment. In fact, in all times, this institution has always been a solid support of the defense system of our country. Its history was written with dedication, professionalism and sincere love for Serbia. For 100 years of its existence, the Institute has been closely linked with the destiny of our country, survived and developed, remaining faithful to its mission and system of values.
Its members worked at full capacity even in the most difficult times — when the NATO aggressor inflicted serious damage on the Institute’s facilities and assets in several attacks — the Minister of Defense stated.
On that occasion, he has pointed out that in the time of technological changes and new security challenges, it is especially important to have an institution like the Technical Overhaul Institute Čačak, “capable of following the rapid and dynamic steps in equipping the Serbian Armed Forces, mastering new knowledge and expanding its capacities”.
