Monday, 24.1.2022 | Training
In the artillery division within the 4th Army Brigade, regular training of soldiers and officers on 122 mm 2S1 "Gvozdika" self-propelled howitzers is underway.

Intensive training in the unit is carried out throughout the year, in order to secure that the members of the division are well trained at all times for the effective combat use of this complex artillery system.

During this period, the crews of self-propelled howitzers are trained to prepare and carry out indirect artillery shooting in winter, when snow and bad weather make it difficult to reconnoiter, select and mask the firing position and determine the elements for shooting. The focus is on practicing actions and procedures that include transferring weapons from the marching to the combat position, taking the firing position and the crew work after issuing the fire command.

This cycle of training will end with the conducting a live fire tactical exercise at the "Pasuljanske livade" training ground, when the practical skills of howitzer crews for performing specific tasks will be checked.

"Gvozdika" 2S1 self-propelled howitzer is an artillery system intended to provide fire support to the Army units, destroying and neutralizing exposed enemy manpower and firepower, destroying strongholds and wire barriers and creating safe passages in minefields.
