Delegation of the MoD and the SAF laid wreaths at the Monument to Field Marshal Misic

On the occasion of marking the centenary of the Great War and victory at the Battle of Kolubara, the delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces laid wreaths at the Monument to Field Marshal Zivojin Misic in Mionica – the city that celebrates the birthdays of the renowned Serbian military leader as its Municipality Day.

On the occasion of marking the centenary of the Great War and victory at the Battle of Kolubara, the delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces laid wreaths at the Monument to Field Marshal Zivojin Misic in Mionica – the city that celebrates the birthdays of the renowned Serbian military leader as its Municipality Day.

Golden plaques “Field Marshal Zivojin Misic”, for their achieved results and achievements in the field of military service, science and doctrine, commanding, obeying ethical norms and providing a personal example in conducting tasks, President of the Municipality of Mionica Dragan Gavrilovic handed over to Lieutenant General Aleksandar Zivkovic, Army Commander, and Lieutenant Colonel Sasa Momcilovic, the most successful attendant of the 57th Class of the General Staff Course at the National Defence School.

The marking of the 18th “Misic’s Days” was also attended by the Assistant Defence Minister Milos Jankovic, representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ministry of the Interior and the Association of Admirers of Warriors of Serbian Liberation Wars, while the ceremony was complemented by the honorary formation of the Training Command.

The Delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces visited the house where Field Marshal Misic was born in Struganik that was turned into a museum in 1987. Victories of the Serbian Army at Cer and Kolubara were the first great successes of the Alliance in the First World War.
