International Biological Weapons and Toxicology Course

An international course in biological weapons and toxicology has been conducted at the CBRN Training Centre in Kruševac this week attended by members of the Serbian Armed Forces and armed forces of eight other countries. 

During the five-day training, attendees from Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Italy, Montenegro, North Macedonia, United States of America, Slovenia and Serbia gained a deeper insight into biological weapons and toxicology and acquired competences for detection and identification of this kind of weapons and for taking protective measures.

In support of the course, a laboratory was established for practicing the use of military equipment for identifying biological agents, taking and identifying samples, and practical application of protective means and means for decontamination of people and equipment.

The training and lectures at the course were delivered by certified instructors from the CBRN Training Centre, toxicology experts from the Military Medical Academy and visiting lecturers from the "Kruševac" General Hospital and "Vinča" Institute for Nuclear Sciences.

Successful execution of the course and great international interest in participation in the training at the CBRN Training Centre continue to confirm this unit’s status of a regional and partner centre for education and training, and high-quality training conducted in the Serbian Armed Forces in the field of CBRN.
