Awards Presented to Members of Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces

Today, in the presence of Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović, Minister of Defense Miloš Vučević, as envoy of Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić, presented decorations to members of the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces on the occasion of Candlemas – the Serbian Statehood Day and Serbian Armed Forces Day.
The award ceremony began with a tribute to the recently perished member of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, Master Sergeant Mijodrag Tošković.
By Presidential Decree, on the occasion of Candlemas - the Serbian Statehood Day, 110 members of the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces and one cultural institution were awarded the Candlemas Order of 2nd Degree, Order of Merit in the Field of Security and Defense of 3rd Degree, Gold and Silver Medals of Merit and Gold and Silver Medals for Diligent Service.
On the occasion of the Serbian Armed Forces Day, 100 members of the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces and one unit of the Serbian Armed Forces were awarded Order of the White Eagle with Swords of 3rd Degree, Order of Merit in the Field of Defense and Security of 3rd Degree, Gold And Silver Medals of Merit and Gold and Silver Medals for Diligent Service.
Congratulating the members of the Ministry of Defense and Serbian Armed Forces on their well-deserved recognitions, Minister Vučević has pointed out that he is exceptionally honored today to present, on behalf of the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, the medals of our homeland, which have always been considered sacred by our people.

Today’s award ceremony, held at the Guard’s Club at the “Topčider” Barracks, has been attended by members of the collegiums of the Minister of Defense and Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff.
