Candidates for Admission to 72nd Special Operations Brigade Took the Oath

Candidates for admission to the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, who were admitted to basic military training with weapons based on the competition from May this year, have taken the military oath today.
At the ceremony in the “Field Marshal Živojin Mišić” Barracks in Valjevo, they pledged to protect and defend the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia in front of the flag of the Republic of Serbia.
With the successful completion of basic military training, they have fulfilled one of the requirements for admission to professional military service, and now they are supposed to undergo selective training consisting of several elimination phases. The most successful ones will be given the opportunity to enter professional military service for a fixed period of six months, with extremely stimulating earnings and the possibility of extending the employment contract for a period of up to three years and its subsequent renewal.
In this elite unit of the Serbian Armed Forces, they will be further trained for the execution of complex and psychophysically demanding tasks, among which are the execution of special operations, offensive actions, counter-offensive, counter-insurgency, counter-terrorist activities and the collection of intelligence data.
The ceremony in the Valjevo barracks was attended by State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense Mile Jelić, Head of the Human Resources Directorate (J-1) of the General Staff Brigadier General Slađan Hristov, Commander of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade Brigadier General Miroslav Talijan, representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces’ units, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, religious communities and local governments, as well as families, relatives and friends of the candidates.
