Training of Soldiers of Riverine Units

Specialist training is underway on the ships of the River Flotilla for the soldiers of the river units who started their military service in December last year.
Soldiers were assigned to this unit after successfully completing individual training at the Command's training centers, and are now being trained for the duties of boatmen and ship's gunners on river multi-purpose and amphibious ships.
In this phase, the training is carried out at the anchorage with the aim of training the soldiers in the correct use of deck devices and unit’s means for the combat resistance of the ship, carrying out deck work and handling and maintaining the ship's weapons. This is followed by training in navigation and the realization of shooting from ship's weapons, which completes the training process for the realization of collective tasks in operations in the waterways.
Soldiers from river units spend three quarters of their military service on ships, in order to adapt to specific ship conditions and master complex training content. They are extremely motivated and a large number have already expressed their desire to join the ranks of professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces at the end of their military service in the River Flotilla.
