Training of Trainers in Climbing and for Mountain Rescue Service

In the mountainous terrain of the Ovčar-Kablar Gorge, an advanced training course in climbing and mountain rescue service for members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade is underway.
This specialized training lasts three weeks, and is aimed to train methodically and practically participants to conduct independently climbing and SAR training in mountainous and rough terrain. A special training objective is to improve the skills in using mountaineering and rescue equipment, organizing a safe stay and carrying out combat tasks in the mountains in the summer.
After successfully mastering the theoretical part in the barracks, the participants are now in the training area conducting practical training, which includes practicing the techniques and tactics of moving in inaccessible terrain, climbing steep cliffs and rescuing and evacuating people in danger.
During the training, the most modern climbing, mountaineering and rescue equipment special units of the Serbian Armed Forces are equipped with is used, which allows the participants to improve their technical skills and gain experience in applying the latest SAR technologies.
With the successful completion of this course, the 72nd Special Operations Brigade will receive new certified and trained trainers to perform complex and high-risk tasks in the search and rescue service, improving at the same time the abilities of combat teams to respond effectively to situations that can be expected in a real combat situation in a rough mountainous terrain.
