Members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade have organized a reception for the families of the fallen fellow soldiers from this elite unit of the Serbian Armed Forces at the “Sergeant Pilot Mihajlo Petrović” Military Airfield in Niš today.
As part of the activity, which was attended not only by the families of the killed, but also by active unit members and representatives of the Brigade Veterans Association, a memorial service was held for military paratroopers who laid down their lives on the honorable path of service to the motherland; wreaths and flowers were laid at the Wall of Remembrance to the Fallen Members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, followed by a tour of the unit’s Memorial Room.
While paying respect and expressing gratitude to the families of the fallen unit members, commander of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, Colonel Aleksandar Stupar, has emphasized that active Brigade members, together with veterans, will never allow for the memory of their loved ones to fade.
- Their courage, sacrifice and love for the fatherland oblige us never to forget them. You should know that as long as the 63rd Parachute Brigade lives, as long as the paratroopers jump, your loved ones live through us - said Colonel Stupar.
This gathering has confirmed once again that heroes do not die, as long as the memory of their deeds is preserved and their families respected in the unit to which their loved ones belonged.
