International Course at the CBRN Centre

The course "Detection, dosimetry and protection against ionizing radiation" was held at the CBRN Centre in Kruševac this week, which was attended by members of the armed forces from eight countries.

During the five-day training, participants from Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Italy, the United States of America, Slovenia and Spain were trained to work in conditions of exposure to ionizing radiation.

They practiced using equipment for detection and dosimetry, techniques for measuring and identifying sources of ionizing radiation, assessing the effects of radiation on biological systems and applying basic protection measures, in the classrooms and during practical exercises.

The training on this international course was carried out by certified instructors from the CBRN Centre and guest lecturers from the Institute of Nuclear Sciences "Vinča" and the Directorate for Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security of Serbia.

The successful implementation of this training and the great international interest in participating in the training at the CBRN Centre further strengthen the status of this unit as a regional and partner center for education and training and confirm the high quality of the training conducted in the Serbian Armed Forces in the field of atomic-biological-chemical defense.
