I wish to congratulate all members of the aviation branch on 02 August – Aviation Day.
By 1893 Order of King of Serbia Aleksandar Obrenović I, all divisions established their air force sections as the first air force units of the Serbian army.
Proud of their glorious tradition more than a century long, the aviation members are following in the footsteps of their predecessors even today. Thanks to your high expertise, professionalism, commitment, and continuous advancement, you perform successfully the most complex tasks such as the protection of air sovereignty, providing support to land forces, transportation of personnel and assets, reconnaissance, as well as humanitarian and rescue missions.
In the recent period, significant results have been achieved by increasing the pilots’ flight hours, conducting day and night training with all sorts of aircraft, training young flight personnel, as well as introducing modern aircraft and helicopters into operational use.
At the same time, through participation in domestic and international exercises, cooperation with partner armed forces and engagement in numerous military, civilian and humanitarian activities, you once again confirmed the high level of proficiency and readiness.
May the results achieved so far be a motivation for the aviation branch of the Serbian Armed Forces to remain a recognizable and important factor of international security system.
In the hopes that, in the future as well, you will perform successfully the intended tasks while sustaining and improving not only the operational capabilities of your units and Air Force and Air Defense, but also the entire Serbian Armed Forces, I congratulate you on your holiday.
