Members of Serbian Armed Forces Involved in Helicopter Exercise in Hungary
Monday, 19.5.2025 | Training
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces are engaged in the international helicopter exercise FIRE BLADE 2025, to be held from today until May 30 in the area of the Pápa Air Base in Hungary.
The host of the tactical exercise is the Multinational Helicopter Training Centre, a founder of which is the Republic of Serbia, along with 13 other EU members and partner countries.
The exercise aims to improve the interoperability of helicopter forces of the participating countries in planning and conducting joint multinational helicopter operations, according to the procedures and tactics developed within the joint European helicopter training program.
Apart from members of the Serbian Armed Forces, who participate in the exercise with an H-145M and Mi-17 helicopter, there are also forces of Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland involved in the exercise.
The concept of the scenario requires training activities to evolve daily at an increasing rate, so that the most demanding joint operations such as providing close-air support to army forces, CSAR, airlift and MEDEVAC of the injured by air could be conducted in the end.
Participation in the work of the Multinational Helicopter Training Centre and its exercises improves the interoperability and skills of helicopter crews of the Serbian Armed Forces and their ability to engage in helicopter operations in a modern operational environment.
