The Training and Doctrine Directorate (J-7), Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, organized the Alpine Ski Instructor Course which is currently underway on Kopaonik.

Its participants are members of the Serbian Armed Forces with advanced skiing skills to be engaged in the tasks of conducting ski training and training exercises after completing training successfully.

Using the most modern training methods defined in a new methodological manual, future instructors will train members of SAF units which, in line with their purpose, must have the ability to perform the tasks in the mountains covered with snow.

The course curriculum stipulates that participants acquire necessary methodological knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical lessons. In addition to the SAF certified instructors’ team, there are visiting lecturers and demonstrators from the Public Company “Skijališta Srbije” and Mountain Rescue Service conducting the classes.

Training in alpine skiing is one of the initial segments of winter training of SAF members and represents an important basis for the execution of more complex contents of training for fulfilling the tasks in specific terrain and weather conditions.
