At the invitation of the Staff for Emergency Situations of Novi Pazar, members of the Serbian Armed Forces have been engaged in helping local population eliminate the consequences of floods that have recently stricken the city.

An engineer task force, which forms part of the Army, is performing reparation works on the damaged roads and is clearing the drainage system from abundant vegetation, earth deposits and other accumulated material in the villages near Novi Pazar. In addition, there are tankers intended to supply drinking water to citizens in some parts of the city where the usual water supply has not been restored yet.

Members of the SAF Engineer Corps have been warmly welcomed by the residents, who have pointed out, thankful for the provided help and hard work, that such activities make people feel that the Serbian Armed Forces are a safe force they could always rely on.

When the natural disasters happened in the Raška District at the end of last week, members of the Serbian Armed Forces were among the first ones to provide help to distressed population, thus confirming their readiness to deploy in a short period of time to any part of the territory when the citizens of Serbia are in need.
