Training of Soldiers on Military Service for Sniper Specialty

Individual specialist training of soldiers on voluntary military service who are training for the sniper specialty is underway at the Army Training Centre in Požarevac.

During the six-week training in the barracks and on the training grounds, the soldiers are mainly trained for conducting specific combat tasks and handling of the semi-automatic sniper rifle 7.9 mm M76 and long-range rifle 12.7 mm M93.

The biggest focus is on topics from tactical and fire training and knowledge of infantry means and equipment. Proper camouflage with the use of additional and formation means, movement on the battlefield, selection and arrangement of shelters for action, determination of elements for firing and solving fire tasks are the most important contents that soldiers undergo in training for snipers of the Serbian Armed Forces.

What follows now is stationary camping, within which they will be trained in the field to carry out a wide range of tasks and perform a larger number of firings, which will improve and perfect their accuracy and efficiency. For those who are the best, there will be positions as professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces, for which soldiers can apply during their military service.
