Together with Army Commander, Major General Zoran Nasković, and Chief of the Operations Directorate (J-3) of the General Staff, Major General Gordan Pavlović, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited the members of the Serbian Armed Forces in the Ground Safety Zone on the second day of Christmas.
During the tour, he spoke with members of the Serbian Armed Forces tasked with securing the administrative line with Kosovo and Metohija and controlling the Ground Safety Zone at the “Mađere” and “Devojačka Čuka” bases. The bases’ commanders reported on the implementation of assigned tasks and organization of life and work in these bases of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Minister Gašić has pointed out that visiting today members of the Serbian Armed Forces, who are engaged even during the great Christian holiday — Christmas, is an opportunity to show them respect for the commitment and responsibility with which they perform their tasks.
— I am extremely glad to spend this day at the “Mađere” and “Devojačka Čuka” bases with members of the Serbian Armed Forces who, even on holidays, serve their homeland and their people. Their service, discipline and responsibility are the foundation of our country’s security and confirmation that Serbia has the armed forces it can always rely on — said the Minister of Defence.
He has emphasized that the members of the Serbian Armed Forces are guided by an unshakable faith in their mission, and that he is convinced that in the future they will carry out all tasks responsibly and professionally with the aim of preserving peace.
— We will continue to invest in improving the standards of members of the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as in weapons and equipment. As part of numerous infrastructural works carried out over the last year, we also reconstructed part of the bases in the Ground Safety Zone in order to provide our members with the best living and working conditions, and we will continue with that in 2026 as well — said Minister Gašić, congratulating members of the Serbian Armed Forces on New Year’s and Christmas holidays with the traditional greeting “Peace of God, Christ is born”.
